Adapting Car Interior Accessories for Go Karts

People generally accept that go karts are designed to be rough-and-tumble, no frills and no nonsense kinds of vehicles.  But as go-karting becomes increasingly popular and a greater diversity of people attempt to participate in this sporting event, the bare basics of the sport often get traded in for some fresh takes on how people should participate.  For those not satisfied with a bare-bones type of kart experience, passenger car interior accessories can be adapted for use in go karts to increase rider comfort (and style).

Gauges

Want to know how fast your kart is going?  Want to have symbols light up if there’s an error or issue with the kart.  Flashy gauges may not be standard on most go karts, but that doesn’t mean they can’t be used.  For the high-end, serious kart driver, these gauges can let you know when you’re low on fuel or reaching your peak speed; useful information, even for go kart drivers.

Seating

Uncomfortable go kart seats can ruin a novice’s first experience (deadening the sport to him or her right off the bat), and can even wear down the most experienced of drivers.  Many passenger vehicles are equipped with aftermarket racing seats, which provide comfort and cushioning but also a sleek, race-ready design.  Specialty racing seat belts can also be adapted, so long as you’re handy with tools and know how to fashion random pieces together.  But then again, if you’re a go kart driver, eclectic taste and knowledge is probably something you have a lot of.

Knobs and Pedals

Shifting gears, pressing on switches, and slamming down on a pedal are all parts of regular driving as well as go-karting.  So why not have a designed shift knob that’s been artfully presented to appear as an 8-ball, or get car pedals that are built for large feet instead of small ones?  These may seem like minute upgrades, but if car owners can have them, why not go kart owners too?
